“The Urban Crush #1” 2019 Rosé was made from Merlot grapes grown in Pokolbin in the heart of the Hunter Valley. The fruit was hand harvested at sunrise and transported to 48 Watt Street in the heart of Newcastle for our inaugural “Urban Crush” dinner. Our fabulous guests then foot crushed and basket pressed the grapes before the juice was transferred to an old French oak barrel for fermentation. This occurred using naturally occurring wild yeast. The wine was fined using vegan friendly finings and was filtered prior to being bottled.
A blend of Sangiovese (45%), Merlot (35%) & Cabernet (20%) has created a generously flavoured dry style Rosé thats easy drinking and refreshing. Wild and cultured yeast fermented in hogshead barrels.”
